This is an opportunity to join a project team within the area of operational excellence to support the development and delivery of an improvement programme. This will involve close liaison with production teams to identify improvement opportunities for procedures, systems and workforce capability (knowledge & skills).The programme also includes the implementation of a new operational management system (OMS) that will underpin our journey towards operational excellence where tasks are completed by the right people, the right way and at the right time. Going forwards, the team will govern, maintain, and continuously improve the OMS via appropriate measures, planned assessment, and management review. We are looking for people to support the project team in the areas of OMS development and operational assessment.

This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a high profile project team where, working closely with front line operational managers and teams, you will adopt a holistic approach to operational activities undertaking assessments to identify improvement opportunities in the short, medium and longer term. The new OMS will become a key source of information and one-stop shop for operational people. It must be accessible and user friendly and your knowledge of I.T. systems coupled with good communication skills will be invaluable in identifying solutions and acquiring engagement from end users.

You will be a self-starter planning and executing your tasks to deliver the expected outputs aligned with the project plan.
Teamwork is key, you will be able to draw on the experience and knowledge of others whilst drawing on your own experiences to help others and further the project.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for people who have some experience in the field of activities detailed above. You may have a water production or water quality background and insight into the challenges facing operatives in fulfilling tasks, or you may have experience in implementing or maintaining a management system within a regulat ed industry. Knowledge of current operational processes including site operating manuals (SOM), operational standards and procedures, the risk process, alarm change and waivers is desirable. Whatever your background, you will need to be a good communicator at all levels and comfortable engaging with internal and external stakeholder groups who have an influence on or are influenced by the new operational management system.
Thames Water information and salary details
This role is offering a salary between £36,000 and £44,000. The base location is negotiable and will include travel across the region and consequently a full driving license is required.
