Electricity North West own, operate and maintain the regions electricity distribution network connecting more than 5 million people to the National Grid. It €™s a huge responsibility that calls for round the clock innovation and constant future planning.

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly organised individual to become a Distribution Technician based at our Workington depot.

Working as part of the North Operations  €“ North Lakes engineering team you will be responsible for the delivery of small capital schemes where you will be accountable for costing, organising and supervising works and be required to control and monitor direct and contract labour.

You will also be responsible for organising work and resources and co-ordinating project activities on larger schemes across the area.

We are happy to consider applications on a development basis if you are willing to work in line with an agreed development plan which will allow you to gain the relevant skills and authorisations to work as a Distribution Technician on our network.

As the successful candidate you will:

  • Hold a minimum of an ONC level qualification in Electrical Engineering (essential) or a HNC level qualification in Electrical Engineering (desirable);
  • Have proven industry experience;
  • Be willing to train to become HV Authorised;
  • Have extensive knowledge of the Electricity LV Network;
  • Have a good knowledge and understanding of Codes of Practice;
  • Have an understanding of Electricity Guaranteed Standards;
  • Be familiar with all Operational IT Systems including Microsoft Office, Power GIS, Estimate, Web TMS etc.;
  • Be highly organised with the ability to plan and prioritise your work load effectively.

Appointment to this role will be on Electricity North West JNC terms and conditions of employment.
